23rd Psalm for Busy People.

The Lord is my pace-setter, I shall not rush,
He makes me stop and rest for quiet intervals,
He provides me with images of stillness, whice restore my serenity.
He leads me in ways of efficiency; through calmness of mind,
And his guidance is peace.

Eventhough I have a great many things to accomplish each day
I will not fret for his presence is here,
His timelessness, His all importance will keep me in balance.

He prepares refreshment and renewal in the midst of activity
By anointing my mind with His oils of tranquility,
My cup of joyous energy overflows,
Surely harmony and effectiveness shall be the fruits of my hours,
For I shall walk in the pace of the Lord, and dwell in his house forever.

Isn't it calming to now that the Lord is our pace-setter. At times the world can be so overwhelming and confusing that to know God is in control brings a lot of contentment. Personally, this past year has been the hardest, busiest I have ever experienced. From dealing with school work, student council, running everyday, races, co-designing the school yearbook, babysitting, etc. I rarely had time for a break. At times it was so hard to deal with everything but as I look back on it I know that God was there guiding me every step of the way.
I'm finding it the same with this trip, there is so much to prepare for. A few weeks doesn't seem like enough time to get it all done and I know it is the same for all of us. We need to remember that with every phone call, doctors appointment, form, worry and doubt that God is right there beside us running the race. He won't set the pace to fast so that we can't keep up and will never sprint ahead to leave us in the dust.
