Mark 9:41
I have come to the realisation that I learn the most about Christ through the kids I work with. I am so humbled by them and the unconditional love they continuously pour on me. They reek of Jesus, they act like Jesus, and they shine like Jesus.
My lesson through them this week came in the form of a lowly glass of cold water. On Tuesday I was at the care point all afternoon helping the Gogo and playing with the kids but come time to leave I had no way to get home. My phone was out of rand, I was by myself and our van was, and still is, out of commission. Not necessarily an ideal situation. I was seriously praying that God would give me a way to get home because it is not good for a little white girl to stand around the care point by herself much less walk by the dump. Then pretty much He instantly answered prayer. Some of the girls that I have gotten really close to came back to the care point to see if I was still there because they wanted to walk home with me. Wow provision! The next thing I know I am halfway home with a two year old in my arms and a group of girls walking side by side with me. It was amazing. We were singing songs and they were practicing their bible verses for church. We soon reached our destination and they dropped me off, asked for a glass of cold water for walking in the heat and then went back home. They were so unselfish just so I could be safe. I am so blessed by getting to know them.
